About

In addition to hosting herding trials/tests annually, CDHA sponsors various herding instinct tests and demonstrations throughout the year. This organization of approximately 50 members, actively promotes the sport of livestock herding.

Special Events

CDHA has several special events held throughout the year. These include an ABA sanctioned Herding Capability Test (herding instinct evaluation) and member herding fun day, Ranch dog gymkhana held in conjunction with the Larimer County Fair in August, AKC and AHBA Herding Trials early October at Rancho Terra Norte' in Wellington, CO. Then AKC Herding Group conformation show and Farm Dog Certification test in mid-October in conjunction with Buckhorn Valley Kennel Club's All-breed shows and trials at the Archer Event Complex in Cheyenne, WY.

CDHA will be hosting its Annual AKC Herding Trial/Tests on September 28 - 30 2023 in conjunction with the BVKC Herding trials/tests on September 28, October 1 & 2, 2023). These events will be held at Rancho Terra Norte' in Wellington, CO. Offering A, B, C, and D courses and tests including Farm Dog Certification.

CDHA will be joining BVKC the weekend of October 13th for our annual AKC Herding Group Conformation show. These events will be held at the Archer Event Complex in Cheyenne, WY. Check www.onofrio.com for premium lists. 

Membership dues for 2023 are now due. Individuals $20/year Family
